How do Americans travel to the Hindu Kush? I've been told that Pakistani authorities don't allow travel in the area. I've been wanting to travel there for some time now. I enjoy reading your blog, keep it up!

Hello Ron, the people of Chitral, a scerene valley in the Hindukush in the extreme north of Pakistan, are perturbed over the misconception created abroad that the area is out of bounds for foreigners. In fact, this valley is the most peaceful and without any disturbance. One example of the claim is the recent vist of two American to Chitral for hunting purpose. And tehre are many such people from your part of the world who regularly come here and enjoy the peace and hospitality and tradition of the local people who speak a separate language called Khow. I hope you one day you will visit Chitral to find out the truth.
