More rains hit Chitral

Chitral Update Report

YARKHUN VALLEY: Two much rain in upper parts of Chitral this year has created problems for the residents. The residents of the areas with no glaciers mostly pray for rain in winter so that they can have sufficient quantity of water in summer to irrigate their crops and orchards.

However, rainfall after March brings more miseries and destruction to standing crops and flowering orchards.

A heavy rain again lashed all parts of the valley on Tuesday afternoon, creating fear among the farmers that it would damage their crops and orchards causing loss of thousands of rupees. Besides, there were reports of widespread avalanches in the far-off areas leading to blockade of roads. Till filing of this report, the rain was continuing.
